Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 2026-06-29
We want Pictocards to be usable by as many people as possible, including children and adults with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we design the app, not an afterthought.
Our approach
Pictocards is built with a calm, neurodivergent-friendly design: no flashing, no sudden or surprising sounds, and predictable, consistent transitions. We have also worked to make the interface readable and navigable, including:
- Colour contrast — text and interface colours are chosen to meet recognised contrast guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Clear structure — pages use proper headings and landmarks so assistive technologies can navigate them.
- Predictable interaction — simple, consistent controls suited to young children and their carers.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is an area we keep improving. Some parts of the app may not yet fully meet every guideline, and we work to fix issues as we find them.
Tell us about a problem
If you find something hard to use, or you need information from Pictocards in a different format, please contact us at team@pictocards.app. Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and we’ll do our best to help and to fix it.
